My latest addition to the current collection; Garuda Indonesia B737-800 & Kuwait Airways A340-300

OK; It's been a long time since my last post here in my blog,thanks to the works and also the Festive season (Chinese New Year,which falls on Jan 23rd).

Anyhow,back to our original story.On 28/01/2012 (Saturday),I have received my latest addition to my collection,which are:

* Kuwait Airways A340-300 "Warba" by Hogan,and
* Garuda Indonesia B737-800 (PK-GFN;1969-1989 livery) by Gemini Jets.

First,the GA B738.This plane was one of the 2 B737-800s painted in retro livery (the other one was PK-GFM,in 1961-1969 livery).Dubbed as the  "Hockeystick",this livery was used from 1969 to 1989,before it was changed in 1990s.This livery was been spotted on :

* Airbus A300
* Boeing 747-200
* Fokker F28
* McDonnell Douglas DC-9 & DC-10

The second one was Kuwait Airways A340-300 (9K-ANA,"Warba") by Hogan,also in 1:400 scale.

The actual plane (cn 089), was delivered to KU on 29th March 1995,It is one of the 4 A340-300s operated by Kuwait Airways (the others was 9K-ANB, "Bayan",9K-ANC, "Meskan" and 9K-AND,"Al-Riggah").

The only reason why i'm grabbing this Kuwait Airways model was to commemorate my youngest brother flight to the United States (KUL-KWI-LHR-JFK) which will take place on February 2012,and he will be flying onboard their A340 all the way from Kuala Lumpur to New York-JFK International Airport.

Fire Incident @ Lorong Bandong 5 (Part 2)

Continuation of the photos of the Fire incident @ Lorong Bandong 9 on 3/1/2012.

Colleagues from DUN N49 Nangka Service Center,Dato'Sri Dr.Benny Lee Service Center & Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak (Sarawak Baitulmal Fund) Sibu Branch on arranging the immediate assistance

Member of Parliament (MP) for Sibu,YB Wong Ho Leng,and Member of Sarawak State Assembly for N48 Pelawan,YB David Wong Kee Woan are also on the site,upon the info received.

Sesco Contractors cutting off the electricity supply to the affected house.Because of that,some of the area suffered blackout for a moment.

After the fire recedes,the affected victims were placed at a house in Jalan Abang Barieng. For the time being,Monetary assistance of RM 500 per family was presented to the victims,and further assistance will be given accordingly.I will drop by at the site for the latest update (as I have been informed an temporary aid station was made at a house opposite the victim's residence in order for people to donate some necessities and money to them).

Fire incident @ Lorong Bandong 5 (3/01/2012)

Around 11.20am,while at the office alongside my colleagues,we were surprised to hear that a house were caught by fire.Shocked,I quickly went down to see,and upon seeing it,I quickly made a dash upstairs again and grabbed my camera.Below are the photos taken during the incident:

Hi-Tea event 'An Afternoon with Sri Swangsa' (1/1/2012)-My 1st event in 2012

On the New Year's Day,I've attended the first event for the year 2012.The event was the Hi-Tea,organized by Sri Swangsa Cultural and Heritage Group (Thanks to the Invitation given by its chairman,Sdra.Idris Omar).The event was closed,only by invitation and was held at the Paramount Hotel Sibu.

The Guest of Honor was YB Dr.Annuar Rapaee,Member of Sarawak State Assembly Hall (ADUN) for N49 Nangka.Others were Cr.Awang Ali Bahar and Penghulu Sahari Ubu of Kampung Nangka as well.

Welcoming Speech from the Chairman of Sri Swangsa Group,Sdra.Idris Omar

Speech by YB Dr.Annuar Rapaee,and also the gracing of the Hi-Tea event by YB as well.

After the YB speech,the dancers performed the 1Malaysia Dance,which comprises the mix of 3 races into one dance movement.

Definitely a first time for me to attend the Hi-Tea event,and also the 1st event in 2012.Believe me,there will be lots of events or program to be attended or joined for the entire year!

Happy New Year 2012

2011 is now history,and it is now 2012.

My hope that may 2012 will be better than the previous year,and lots of happiness for the entire year.

This year also marks the Year of the Dragon as well,and for Sibu.It will be definitely packed with its sons returning home for the upcoming Chinese New Year in approximately 2 weeks time.
