Program "Sirih Pulang ke Gagang" : "Lan Ngabas" at Mrs. Helen Bandong Residence, 1st of June, 2014

After the morning forum concluded, the "Lan Ngabas" program continues with the another location, Mrs. Helen Bandong residence at Kampung Nangka. Mrs. Bandong was daughter of the late ex-Councillor V.G. Bandong, a Melanau from Kampung Nangka. Below are the photos from the program:

In memory of B737-400 operations in Malaysia: Thank You B734 (1992-2014)

Yesterday (14/06/2014), another chapter in Malaysian aviation history comes to an end. Malaysia Airlines officially retires its Boeing 737-400 aircraft from their fleet, after 22 years of faithful service to Malaysia.

The history of Boeing 737-400 in Malaysia began in May 1992, where at one point, MH operates 54 B734s, making it the biggest operator outside of United States.

The final flight was celebrated with the water canon salute, to honor the flight. It was piloted by Captain Wan Muzainal Wan Mahazir, and 9 crews. 85 passengers was onboard the aircraft, including fellow blogger Azuan Ahmad Zahdi.

The last 2 photos was snapped at Langkawi International Airport, a memorable experience for me.

To the B734, We thank you for your 22 years of faithful service to our beloved nation. She was replaced by newer generation of the Boeing 737, the Boeing 737-800.

Program "Sirih Pulang ke Gagang" : Forum Sejarah Masyarakat Melayu Melanau Sibu @ Dewan Kompleks Islam Sibu, 1/06/2014

The big day is finally here; the 1st of June. First, a forum was held on the morning, especially on the history of the Malay/Melanau Community here in Sibu. The forum however was cut-short when the Master of Ceremony announced that the Chief Minister is making a short visit before heading to the airport.

Program "Sirih Pulang ke Gagang" : "Lan Ngabas" at Ex-Councillor Pn Zainab Hashim @ Konselar Jenab residence, 31st of May, 2014

The final location for the Lan Ngabas program for the May 31st was the residence of Ex-Councillor Pn. Zainab Hashim, where she is also the Head of the Woman wing of the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Bukit Assek branch. The program also received an unexpected guest, where the Special Admininistration Officer (SAO) to the Chief Minister of Sarawak paid a visit to the residence as well. The SAO itself, is my eldest cousin as well.

Afterwards, the Member of State Legislative Council for N.49 Nangka, YB Dr. Annuar Rapaee joins in for the program. He was unable to join at the second location, as on the same time, the Chief Minister of Sarawak is arriving at the airport.

Another guest of honor, the SAO to the Chief Minister of Sarawak, Mr. Azmi Bujang (coincidentally my eldest cousin).

The biggest day is set, where the "Sirih Pulang ke Gagang" Program on the following day.
