On 31st of May and June 1st, a historic event took place in Sibu; named "Sirih Pulang ke Gagang". The program, aimed on gathering all Malay Melanau Community in Sibu, and also Sibu-born natives now residing elsewhere, for a event. And also a photo exhibition, called "Seribu Gambar dalam Kenangan" (Thousand Photos in Memory) was also held.
The preparation began on May 26th, for the photo exhibition.
